Three-axis milling machine for home useBachelor’s thesis · 2024Three-axis milling machine for home useDesign of a fixed-gantry CNC milling machine aimed at non-expert users, able to machine 6061 aluminium to 0.1 mm accuracy on every axis with a 180 × 140 × 100 mm work envelope. Selected linear guides, ball screws and NEMA 23 motors, calculated the cutting force and validated the structure with finite element analysis in Ansys Workbench, modelling the stiffness of the guide carriages. The design meets every specification.CNCFEALinear guidesMechanical designView project →Finished two-axis solar tracker with its panel and control box.High school research project · 2018Two-axis solar trackerDesigned and built from scratch a solar tracker that points a photovoltaic panel in azimuth and elevation. 3 mm laser-cut and bent sheet steel structure with 3D-printed parts, designed in Fusion 360. Two NEMA 23 stepper motors driven by an Arduino Nano, which works out the sun’s position from an RTC clock. The tracker was built and works.Sheet metal & laser3D printingArduinoStepper motorsView project →
